Food was good. Would have given a 5 star……We went for a birthday lunch at 1:00pm on a weekday. The restaurant was empty but the server denied our requested table. Felt a little bit rushed as the check was presented before we finished our entree. One guest was turned down at 1:49pm. Will visit again to see if the service has improved. 😎🤔
Stopped at the restaurant to eat and wasn’t disappointed.
Tried chili chicken, chicken 65, and goan fish curry at the restaurant. All three dishes were pretty good but the chicken done better.
Service was also quite good.
Intimate but swanky Indian restaurant in the heart of Princeton. Great decor and friendly service. Before our food, these crunchy finger foods were brought out with what seemed like diced tomatoes. Fascinating.
We started with the street samosas which were tasty, but small for the price. The sauces with them were amazing though. For mains, we ordered the Nadan Fish Curry in its hot spicy iteration. It was a unique and delectable in taste, with huge chunks of fish. Definitely a winner. We also had the Prawn mango coconut dish medium spicy, which was sweet and a good spicy at the same time. This was a definite favorite. Tender shrimp, not prawns, but still freakin delicious. Dark orange sauce for both, but each different in flavor. The cheese naan was a nice addition to eat with the mains - paired perfectly.
When we got our food, a man who we presumed to be the owner or manager walked up and told us that we were supposed to put the food down on the leaf first, and then eat it, as it anti-oxidized the food and would take on a little of the leaf flavor. It was a great way to dine.
Would definitely go back here and try their other dishes. Fabulous little dining delight.
Myself and my family had been to Chennai chimney . We all loved appetizers, tamater soup , Chole bhature. Briysani was not good (it was not like biryani taste , chicken was not cooked fully)
The food was phenomenal from the salad to the rice, naan, vegetables, sauces, and spices. The only food I didn't love was the sweet carrot dessert but it was still interesting to try. The service was slow and not particularly helpful, especially for how empty the restaurant was at lunch time. The atmosphere was okay but ruined by the sound of power drills from the temporary construction going on now.
The food here is delicious, beautifully balanced and subtle flavors. I ordered the Navarantan Korma, and the Tomato Shorba. The service was friendly and very respectful, I received my meal in good time. I would definitely recommend trying Chennai Chimney if you’re looking for great Indian Food in Princeton.
The restaurant has a peaceful atmosphere great for conversation.
Friendly owner and staff. Some of the best Indian food I have tried in the area. Spice levels are somewhat inconsistent and the menu is somewhat limited in choices of protein for each dish. Overall positive experience and would plan to return.
I ordered food from them through Uber eats
One of the item I had ordered was Madurai Muttai dosa, while eating found a solid plastic total waste of money and appetite.
Food safety and quality should be the priority! And this restaurant has taken it for granted in my case. Since it was an online order I didn’t have patience to call or fight over this but I have made sure to review this where ever I can for other customers knowledge and awareness.
Plastic in food is highly unacceptable! If a child was eating they could have choked on it!
I had also ordered idli vada but only received vada they changed the order and did not even inform me.
The biryani i ordered looks unnaturally orange.
I will 200% avoid ordering from here ever again.
